I’m a private tutor located in Austin, Texas. For the past 6 years, I’ve been teaching one on one private Photoshop, Design and Web lessons. I have on occasion prepared presentations and taught classes to professionals groups. Recently, I gave a one-hour interactive lecture to the Natural Science Council at the University of Texas (UT). As a tutor, teacher and lecturer, I gain the most satisfaction from sharing my passion about design and technology, but also from seeing my students grow and blossom into fully independent and skilled creators themselves. Patience and experience as my most prized tools.
Good news everyone! I am now accepting Bitcoin payments for Illustration, Graphic Design and Creative Consultancy services.
After much research and pondering, I decided it would be a good idea to accept Bitcoin payments. Although it is used internationally, very few businesses yet accept Bitcoins and the number of creative agencies accepting payment in the crypto-currency is even smaller. Since the value of Bitcoin fluctuates regularly, it is understandable that many businesses and service providers would deem the currency too unstable and too much of a risk. I believe it has potential however and will be taking Bitcoin payments from now on.
February has blessed me with some small but exciting creative projects. One of them was a project I call “Lion Chess”. Commissioned by Robert Chan, the simple vector illustration was to feature a kingly lion head resting on a chess piece body. Robert sent me some examples of the style he was looking for and I proceeded to draw three variations of the concept in different styles: geometric and modern versus classical.
After over a year since the last update, Somicro and Somacro, two free social media icon sets developed and distributed by myself, get a facelift. New icons for Mixcloud, Steam, VK, Hangouts, Meetup (Somacro only) and Etsy have been added. Additionally, icons for Youtube, Spotify and Google+ have been modified and improved.
Where to begin?
The past year has been a year of major changes in my life: I met someone extraordinary and embarked a new relationship, got married and shifted slightly my career focus as an artist. I’ve encountered a lot of challenges and forged a new path for myself. What remains at this point in my life is a happy and motivated woman whose professional focus is illustration, graphic design and web design, in that order, precisely.
