I’m a private tutor located in Austin, Texas. For the past 6 years, I’ve been teaching one on one private Photoshop, Design and Web lessons. I have on occasion prepared presentations and taught classes to professionals groups. Recently, I gave a one-hour interactive lecture to the Natural Science Council at the University of Texas (UT). As a tutor, teacher and lecturer, I gain the most satisfaction from sharing my passion about design and technology, but also from seeing my students grow and blossom into fully independent and skilled creators themselves. Patience and experience as my most prized tools.
You’ve probably heard of Ello, the hip new social network many young people are flocking to. But just in case you haven’t been paying attention lately, Ello is where it’s at right now according to various news sources as well as Google Trends. Originally imagined and built by a team of seven designers, Ello is a social network which was privately launched in March 2014. Their focus? Offering a simple, beautiful, and ad-free social network. Standing up against the current online business model which collects and sells user data, the founders of Ello recently registered their business as a Public Benefit Corporation in the United States, making it virtually impossible according to them to ever sell ads or user data. It is a bold move which raises the question of how Ello will be earning revenues. The founders do not seem too worried and, as a matter of fact, investors just gave the project $5.5 million even after their latest announcement regarding their company status.
